Oct. 21, 2024 - UPM Raflatac, a global supplier of self-adhesive paper and film products, announced the opening of its new distribution terminal located in Ajax, Ontario, Canada — part of the Greater Toronto Area. This 30,000-square-foot facility extends service to Eastern Canadian customers and complements an existing network of three factories and two other terminals that collectively service North America-based customers.
According to the company, the new terminal is equipped with the latest slitting and material handling technology, along with an expansive inventory ready for slitting and shipping.
"Our new terminal in Toronto marks a pivotal step in enhancing our service to Eastern Canada. This expansion supports customer success while driving sustainable solutions, reinforcing our commitment to the industry," said Alex Ramirez, Director Fulfillment, UPM Raflatac Americas.
The facility began its initial customer shipments on October 2nd, with production ramping up through the end of 2024.
"I want to thank our Implementation Team for achieving this milestone and express appreciation for the Toronto team's focus and excitement as they navigate the ongoing ramp-up period," Ramirez added.
In addition to the North American production network, UPM Raflatac operates terminals and offices in Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Mexico City, Mexico; Rosarito, Mexico; and Guadalajara, Mexico, to service customers in Central and South America.
UPM Raflatac offers high-quality self-adhesive paper and film products including label materials, graphics solutions and removable self-adhesive products. The company operates 12 factories and delivers innovative and sustainable products through its global network of distribution terminals.
