Dec. 20, 2024 - Valmet has appointed David Nelson as interim Head of Valmet's North American business, succeeding Jukka Tiitinen as of January 1, 2025. He will assume this interim role in addition to his current responsibilities as Vice President, Sales and Marketing, North America.
Nelson brings over 35 years of expertise in pulp, paper, and related industries, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic impact. Prior to his current role, he led Valmet's Services Sales Team in North America, and was the Director of Sales, US North, from 2008 to 2020.
Earlier in his career, Nelson held various leadership, sales, and engineering positions across Valmet, Metso, and Beloit Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management.
In this interim role, David will report to Valmet President and CEO Thomas Hinnerskov.
