Jan. 20, 2025 - Chilean pulp and paper producer CMPC has nominated Bernardo Larraín Matte as its new Chairman, along with his renewal as a member of the Board.
In a written notice, CMPC's CEO Francisco Ruiz-Tagle Edwards stated, "…the Controlling Group informed its decision to support in all corresponding instances, the renewal as a Board member of the Company and his election as Chairman of the Board, of Mr. Bernardo Larraín Matte in the election that will take place during the upcoming ordinary shareholders' meeting in April.
"The same communication informs that Mr. Luis Felipe Gazitúa Achondo will not be nominated as a Board Member for that election, and therefore, from that moment on, he will cease to be the Chairman of the Company, a position he has held since 2016."
