Total U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Shipments Increased 4% in January 2025

Feb. 19, 2025 - The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released the January 2025 Packaging Papers Monthly report. According to the report, total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in January increased 4% compared to January 2024.

The operating rate for bleached packaging papers was 81.4%, up 3.3 points from January 2024.

Shipments of the biggest subgrade in unbleached packaging papers — bag & sack — were 104,800 short tons for the month of January, down 1.6% from the same month last year.
