EPIQ Machinery Acquires 50% Stake in India-based Crane Manufacturer FAFECO Group

FAFECO Founded in 1971, FAFECO GROUP has extensive expertise in custom-designed cranes with units lifting capacities of up to 500 tons.

March 19, 2025 - EPIQ Machinery announced the strategic acquisition of a 50% stake in FAFECO GROUP, one of India's leading crane and overhead crane manufacturers.

Founded in 1971, FAFECO GROUP has extensive expertise in custom-designed cranes with units lifting capacities of up to 500 tons. The company operates three manufacturing facilities in Pune with an annual production capacity of 100 cranes. FAFECO serves a global customer base, exporting to Europe and Asia.

By this acquisition, EPIQ Machinery consolidates its global presence, particularly in India, where it has successfully expanded its operations over the past 12 years through EPIQ ADF in Pune.

"This acquisition is a natural step in our long-standing commitment to the Indian market," said Éloïse Harvey, CEO, EPIQ Machinery. "FAFECO's proven expertise in industrial cranes aligns perfectly with EPIQ's vision of delivering fully integrated material handling solutions that combine robotics, automation and digitalization to optimize industrial operations."

Shyam Gurnani, Managing Director at FAFECO, will retain a 50% stake in the company. A long-time trusted partner of EPIQ ADF, he will continue to play a key leadership role in the overall management of EPIQ INDIA, which now includes: FAFECO, ADF, STYMER, and NOVIMEQ.

EPIQ noted that by combining FAFECO's strength in specialized crane manufacturing with EPIQ's expertise in robotics and automation the partnership will foster the next generation of smart, interconnected industrial operations.

Both companies will maintain their existing operations while collaborating closely on innovation, process optimization, and market expansion, EPIQ added.

Based in Montreal, Canada, EPIQ Machinery transforms heavy industrial material handling through Industry 4.0 capabilities, combining automation, robotics, and digitalization to deliver intelligent, end-to-end solutions.
